Questions about this calculation
What does a single-site WMS actually save?
Three things, in this order: fewer pick errors and therefore fewer returns and credit notes, less time spent counting and correcting stock, and less order administration once the webshop and ERP stop being reconciled by hand. Labour reduction usually shows up as absorbed growth rather than fewer people.
Which numbers should I replace before trusting the outcome?
The pick error rate and the cost of a single error. Both are pre-filled with planning defaults, and both dominate the result. Take the error rate from your own returns data over the last quarter, and the cost per error from what a wrong shipment costs you in carriage, handling and credit.
How quickly does a single-site implementation pay back?
A single site with standard connectors typically goes live in four to twelve weeks, and the payback question is usually decided by error cost rather than labour. Whether that lands nearer two months or nearer six depends on your order volume and your current error rate.
